Racism and Classism have created such a skewed nightmare in our judicial system, creating criminals and closing doors to our best and brightest in ever increasing numbers and as a poet/writer, this was my initial response.

WHEN JUSTICE HAD A MISCARRIAGE
When Justice had a miscarriage
bled all over court room floors
across the country
moaned and sighed
and bled and cried
we watched in horror
watched in terror
watched in silence
when Justice had a miscarriage
labored in vain
to give birth to truth
birth to hope
birth to 'equal treatment under the law'
those of us
who tried to flip the flaw
that everybody sane saw
were picked off
one by one by one
and when the shit
was done
fear of being next
had won
and our freedom took a hit
just as if we faced the gun
when Justice had a miscarriage
peeked from beneath
her blindfold
and felt the babies
she wished to hold
ooze wetly down her thighs
while tears welled
in her eyes
and the media machine
being what it has become
draped her in headlined lies
bound her in shackles
of evidence
dreamed up
by the moral less
majority
and pretty much
ran that ****
from every major city
when justice had a miscarriage
let us remember
it was not her first
she has lost so
many babies
but the facts
only gets worse
each time she is
impregnated
with the hope
that she will someday
completely reign
she's held hostage
in some closet
and beat down
by the insane
quoting the inane
thought-- that this
is for the greater good
and if she acted
as they would
they'd let her babies
live to grow
but of course
that hasn't proven so
when justice had
a miscarriage
