(1973, dir. St. Clair Bourne, 67 min, USA) w/ Verdict: Not Guilty (1933, dir. Eloyce Gist & James Gist, 9 min, USA).  A young minister in training travels through the South contemplating his future vocation. Filmed in Atlanta, the Mississippi delta, and Chicago, this narrative documentary looks at the Black church from within, and how it affects African-American life in both urban and rural America. Discussion moderated by Eric Williams, NMAAHC Curator of Religion, to follow. Presented in partnership with the Center for the Study of African American Religious Life.
