This Community Day is inspired by Ava DuVernay's cinematic installation, August 28: A Day in the Life of the People. This date is meaningful because it is the anniversary of many significant events in African American history. Through music, dance, presentations, and hands-on activities, we invite visitors to discover the breadth of history through the lens of a single day.
