In celebration of LGBT Heritage Month, The National Museum of African American History and Culture presents, Vintage: Families of Value. The film weaves home movies, performance, conversations, and dream sequences into a compelling profile of three African American families. At times serious, often playful, Thomas Allen Harris’s experimental, autobiographical work features three sisters, a sister and a brother, and the filmmaker and his brother talking candidly about childhood memories and family secrets--including coming out and coming to terms with each other’s identities. What emerges is a witty yet powerful portrait of contemporary American families. Join museum staff in a post Screening Discussion.
