Carruthers, a Black, queer feminist community organizer and writer with over 10 years of experience in racial justice, feminist and youth leadership development movement work, who will discuss her book -Unapologetic Laugh with noted stand-up comedian Sampson, whose act deftly weaves religion, sexuality, racism, life, and politics into an enlightening and sidesplitting event. Listen to the award winning spoken word artist 2Deep After her performance, engage in a beginner's level art lesson developing spoken word, poetry, and performative art around social justice.
