About this Program: Jacob Lawrence’s The Life of Toussaint L’Ouverture celebrates the Haitian revolutionary strategist and statesman who liberated his country from colonial rule to establish the first independent Black republic. Explore the silk prints by the artist that depict L’Ouverture’s struggle against slavery and oppression.
