About This Event
Join us for a docent-led tour to get a fresh look into the Museum's featured object. At each of these 15-minute talks visitors will hear incredibly big stories about a big object.
About this Program: During this program we will look at a small object, a charred penny from the Tulsa Race Massacre in 1921, that tells a big story. This penny laid among the charred remains of the once vibrant all-black enclave of Greenwood in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Converse with a museum docent and reflect on the resiliency of African Americans in making places for themselves and overcoming the challenges they faced.
