Highlights from the Event
Join us as we celebrate National Quilting Month! On Wednesday, March 15th, 2023, the National Museum of African American History and Culture will host District Treasures: Our Quilted Heritage.
This in-museum program will provide registered participants the opportunity to meet one-on-one with museum specialists to receive a professional review of a treasured family quilt. The reviewer will offer information on how to best preserve quilts and additional information, when available.
The March 15th session will also include a presentation by fiber artist, Torreah "Cookie" Washington, along with guided museum tours highlighting the rich legacy of quilts and quilting in the African American community.
Space is limited.
