Highlights from the Event

Join the National Museum of African American History and Culture for the second and third workshops in our NHD in 1 - 2 - 3 at  NMAAHC series: Identifying and Analyzing Sources and Thesis Writing.

These two workshops have been combined.

What is one of the biggest factors that separates a successful National History Day project from a less successful one? It is finding and effectively utilizing quality primary and secondary sources. This workshop will guide student participants of NHD through an interactive research experience, simulating the overall process for conducting historical research on a project. Students will learn methods and improve skills on finding, accessing, analyzing, and evaluating primary and secondary sources by investigating examples from the NMAAHC collection.  Also, this workshop will guide student participants of National History Day through an interactive experience simulating the process of writing a historical thesis and forming an argument.

We strongly encourage a parent/guardian/educator to join and participate with their student at this workshop to learn how to assist their student during their National History Day journey.

This program is generously sponsored by United Airlines.
