NMAAHC Kids Learning Together: Meet a Rock Climber!
Designed for children ages 6 and up
This Black History Month, join NMAAHC Kids in learning about our amazing planet from Black nature lovers and explorers! During this Zoom webinar program, meet climber Brittany Levitt, CEO of Brown Girls Climb. Brittany will teach children about climbing and exploring the outdoors. Plus, she’ll answer audience questions live! Then, a museum educator will lead a painted rock art activity.
About the Special Guest: Brittany Levitt is the CEO and co-founder of Brown Girls Climb. She’s spent the last decade in the climbing community as an instructor, an athlete, and a community organizer, working with organizations such as Outdoor Afro, Appalachian Trail Conservancy, and REI. In 2018, Brittany was part of the first-ever African American team to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. For 5 years, Brittany also shared her love for nature and outdoor play with her students as an educator for the Smithsonian Early Enrichment Center.
