Highlights from the Event
During the month of February, the Sweet Home Café will bring families and friends together to celebrate African American history and culture through food and hospitality. Every Friday from 12:00pm – 3:00pm, and extending into the weekends, Sweet Home Café will feature special menu takeovers by select chefs from across the country. These chefs will tell stories from their heritage through the exquisite menus they curate and execute in the Sweet Home Café kitchen.
Chef Tarik Frazier is a classically trained French food enthusiast. Frazier discovered his love for food and cooking while growing up in Washington, D.C. He attended Johnson & Wales University where he discovered a deeper love for food, hospitality, and creating memorable culinary experiences for people. Frazier graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Food Service Management and a minor in Hospitality and Beverage. Chef Tarik has a decade of professional kitchen experience including working at Michelin-star nominated restaurants, managing food trucks, catering companies, and being an independent private chef. During the last three years, Frazier honed in on plant-based cooking and is now the Co-owner and Executive Chef of “MUSH,” a plant-based mushroom restaurant. With his diverse culinary background, he created his lane for “Global Cuisine,” which is a fusion of cuisine, culture, and cooking techniques from all across the globe. Frazier is always highlighting this passion in his dishes and culinary experiences.
