Nicole A. Taylor, author of the cookbook, Watermelon and Red Birds, and Kevin Young, Andrew W. Mellon Director of NMAAHC, will participate in a conversation about her latest work, which includes documentation of late 19th-century Juneteenth celebrations, and the author’s recipe updates for 21st-century tastes. A short reception follows. Books will be available for sale and signing courtesy of Smithsonian Enterprises.
