Highlights from the Event

Directed by Deborah Riley Draper, Olympic Pride, American Prejudice explores the experiences of eighteen African American Olympians who defied Jim Crow and Adolf Hitler to win hearts and medals at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin. The film includes commentary by Lonnie G. Bunch, founding director, National  Museum of African American History and Culture, as well as Harry Edwards, Professor Emeritus of Sociology at the University of California, Berkeley. Registration for this program is strongly encouraged, but walk-ins will be welcome.
