A bentwood armchair purportedly belonging to a black church in Tulsa that was looted during the Tulsa Riot of 1921. The chair has curved arm rests. The arm rests are attached to the chair back and seat with oval-shaped, metal cleats. Both uprights at the sides of the chair back are also attached to the seat and to the top rail. The chair back has seven (7) rungs at the back. The chair also has two (2) horizontal rungs on the proper left and proper right sides, connecting the proper left and proper right legs. There are two (2) additional rungs at the back connecting the rear legs. At the front is only one (1) rung at the top between the front legs. The chair seat is a square shape with curved corners. The seat is has been slightly molded towards the back to support the sitter. The chair back curves out toward the arm rests.
A Ku Klux Klan (KKK) robe worn by a member of an undetermined rank. The calf-length robe is made from ivory synthetic satin and has full-length sleeves that are slightly flared near the cuff. The robe has a neckband that is lined with red satin and that closes with two sets of snap fasteners. Seven (7) snap fasteners run almost the full length of the button band at the center front. The robe has bands of red, white and blue ribbon sewn near the bottom of the robe approximately five (5) inches from the hem. There are single red ribbon bands at the cuff of each sleeve and running down the proper left and right sides of the button bands. The robe is not lined and there is a single, center back vent measuring 20.75 inches from the hem. There are ivory satin belt loops on each side of the waist. Sewn over the proper left breast is a machine embroidered patch with an ivory satin cross outlined in black against a red satin background with a “blood drop,” embroidered in red, oriented vertically in the center of the cross. The black lines on the patch form a cross with a black diamond in the middle of the cross. The design is typically referred to as the "Mystic Insignia of a Klansman" (MIOAK). The robe has an attached ivory synthetic satin semi-circular half cape with red synthetic satin lining. The half cape has a snap closure sewn to either side of the bottom, front corners.
A double-breasted great coat with a notched collar and full length sleeves made from hand-pieced American bison hide. The coat has eight (8) dark brown buttons in two rows down the center front opening. The buttons are hooked with loops of brown cording that are attached along both the proper right and proper left fronts so that the coat can be closed right over left or left over right. The proper right and proper left lapels have one (1) additional button and loop for added closure around the wearer's neck. There are two (2) exterior pockets on the coat, one at the proper right front waist and one at the proper left front waist. The body of the coat is lined with navy blue wool tweed while the sleeves are lined with off-white cotton or linen. The lining of the arms is machine-stitched.
