    Description
    Tuxedo jacket from a White House butler uniform worn by Eugene Allen. The black jacket has satin lapels and a single button closure. There are pockets with flap closures on the front. There are two (2) buttons on the wrist of each sleeve. A clothing label is sewn into the interior. The label has gold-colored thread, which reads [Lewis & Thos. Saltz / Washington] with a logo in the center. Allen’s name is handwritten inside the right breast pocket.

The front has a zipper and hook and eye closure. [L / H] is engraved on each of the three (3) hooks. Sewn into the interior waistband in white thread on black tabs are Allen’s initials [E A].
