He is wearing a dark three-piece suit, a medium toned tie, white collared shirt, and a white name tag on his lapel. He is holding a white paper in his left hand. An unidentified woman is seated next to him and Gilbert and Grace DeLorme are seated opposite of the Martins. There are three tables of people seated in the background with coffee cups and dessert dishes on the tables. Behind them, there is a sign that reads [ILLINOIS], a [Coca-Cola] scoreboard, an elongated Georgia state flag with a circle of stars surrounding a larger star in the canton, an American flag swag under a basketball net, and a poster in the background that reads [CAN YOU IN ’52 / SAY WE WON / IN ’51,] with a large pointing fist and a question mark in the center of the poster. On the wall on the right side of the photograph is a sign that reads [D]. A handwritten note on the back in blue ink identifies the subjects, event and date.

Helen Martin is wearing an ankle length, dark, off-the-shoulders dress and has her arm linked through her husband’s elbow. Eugene Martin is wearing a black tuxedo, a black bow tie, a white shirt and black buttons. Grace DeLorme is wearing a white strapless dress with a sweetheart neckline and white shawl. Constance Nabrit is wearing a dark, calve length dress with a transparent bolero jacket over her shoulders. An unidentified woman is wearing a white blouse with a floor length dark skirt and metal belt.
