A brass cornet made by Olds Ambassador and owned by Maxine Sullivan. The body of the cornet (2013.46.29.1.1a) is brass with a straight bell and three (3) valves with green felt pads. The ambassador model is manufactured by F. E. Olds. The cornet has [OLDS / AMBASSADOR / FULLERTON / CALIF] inscribed at the base of the bell. The number  is inscribed on the second valve. The finger ring for the pinky of the right hand is silver. The mouthpiece of the cornet (2013.46.29.1.1b) as a conical backbore and appears to be silver plated. [Olds 7C] is inscribed on the cup, below the rim.
A hard-sided Olds Ambassador cornet case. The exterior is covered with brown leather with a metal plaque attached on the front. The plaque has a large [O] at the top, above the word [OLDS]. The case's edges are rounded and covered with dark brown leather bumper strips. It has a brown plastic handle and two lockable metal latches. The interior is lined with red plush and is molded to hold a trumpet and mouthpiece with a cavity underneath for additional material. A piece of yellow paper is taped above the handle. [A07468-3 / trumpet] is written on it in pencil.
