Seated at the speaker’s table is Thomas W. Holmes, Esq. He is to the proper left of the woman wearing a large hat. The table is covered with coffee cups and dessert dishes. Behind the diners is an American flag swag under the basketball net. Overlaying the bottom of the swag is a poster portrait of the founder of Atlanta Life, Alonzo Herndon in three quarters profile. To the left of the portrait is a poster that reads, [ATLANTA / LIFE / NUMBER / 1/ IN ’51], and a poster to the right of the portraits that reads, [CAN YOU IN ’52 / SAY WE WON / IN ’51], with a large pointing fist and a question mark in the center of the poster.
