- Description
- A silver gelatin print depicting a black-and-white image of the Jeter and Pillars Band performing on stage with Joe "Ziggy" Johnson, Daisy Boone and the Eight Plantation Dollies. A man and woman stand hand-in-hand at the front center of the stage. She is wearing a white, full length evening gown and he, a light colored tuxedo. Eight (8) showgirls in matching light colored outfits fan around them, four (4) on each side. Each showgirl is wearing a hat or a head wrap, a ruffled neck crop top, and flowing tiered skirt held out to the sides. Chorine Chickie Collins is depicted second from the left and Chorine Birdie Warfield is fourth from the left. The band is behind them on a raised platform, holding various instruments. The stage set features a repeated circular motif and fountain centered at the back. Photo is inscribed ink white ink at the top left and across the bottom. Text at the top left corner reads [JETER AND PILLARS / BAND / CLEVELAND OHIO]. Across the bottom, a name is written under each of the eight (8) showgirls: [VELMA], [CHICKIE], [VIRGINIA], [BERTHA], [MARGARET], [VIVIAN], [FLOSSIE], and [HELEN]. Written under the man and woman depicted center stage is [JOE AND DAISY / WITH THE EIGHT / PLANTATION DOLLIES / MISSOURI THEATRE / ST. LOUIS MO. 2/1/35]. An inscription written over the two showgirls depicted on the right edge of the image reads, [For [---?] / Laura / Helen]. The photographer’s stamp is on the back of the image. It features a graphic of an eagle clutching a gear in one set of talons and holding lightning bolts in the other and the text [NRA / MEMBER / WE DO OUR PART / P. R. PAPIN PHOTO CO. / ST. LOUIS].

- Description
- A quilt made in memory of Lt. James McCullin. The majority of the quilt's background is a tan fabric with a dotted blue floral design. The border of the quilt is navy blue fabric with a dotted tan floral design. In the center of the quilt is a printed photograph of James McCullin dressed as a World War II pilot. Around the portrait are triangular pieces of the blue fabric forming a sunburst pattern. Around the edges of the quilt are pieces of fabric with images and text printed on them. Many of these pieces are McCullin's personal documents such as his diploma, Army certification, and correspondence with the War Department concerning his disappearance in 1943. The images include the plane he flew, his grave, and the building named after him at Kentucky State University.
