    Description
    An Olympic gold medal with attached ribbon. The medal is molded with figures in relief on the obverse and reverse. The obverse side features a seated woman, representing Lady Victory, dressed in a flowing robe and holding a palm frond in her left hand and a winner's crown of leaves above her head. A coliseum is visible behind her. To her left the words [XXIII / OLYMPIAD / LOS ANGELES / 1984] appear in relief. The reverse features a male figure reaching out while hoisted on the shoulders of other men with a stadium visible in the background. The rim of the medal is stamped with the words [ATHLETICS 4 X 100 METER RELAY MEN] on its proper left side. The medal is attached by a chain link to a loop of ribbon with two broad striped of turquoise and pink, divided by a thin orange stripe, which is sewn at the top.
