An Olympic bronze medal from the 1960 Rome Games. The medal is molded with figures in relief on the obverse and reverse. The obverse side features a seated woman, representing Lady Victory, dressed in a flowing robe and holding a palm frond in her left hand and a winner's crown of leaves above her head. A coliseum is visible behind her. To her left a block of text appears in relief. The reverse features a male figure reaching out while hoisted on the shoulders of other men with a stadium visible in the background. The medal is surrounded by a circular bronze molded laurel wreath with a flat banner at the bottom. On the obverse the banner is blank while on the reverse it is engraved with the word [ATLETICA]. Stamped on the left edge of the coin is a small line of text. At the top of the medal is a pair of hooks. The medal is held somewhat loosely in the wreath in 4 separate brackets.
