This document is from a collection of financial papers related to the plantation operations of several generations of the Rouzee Family in Essex County, Virginia. The papers date from the 1790s through 1860.
This handwritten, one page, single-sided document is titled "Hands to be brought from N. Ca." at the top. The document consists of a list of men in the lefthand column, totaled "8 males" at the bottom, and a list of women and children in the righthand column, totaled "9 females + 4 children" at the bottom. In the middle is the note "From Richmond / 2 children" above some numerical notations, possibly monetary amounts.
The names in the list of males are as follows: John Ray, Henry, Davy Sr., Buck, Wm Rsand, Davy Jr, Harry, Robert.
The names in the list of women and children are as follows: Marin + child, Mary Jane, Dilcy+ Baby, Amy + child + Lizzie Nurse, Judy Marins daughter, Eliza Walker, Sally, Agnes + baby to be notified immediately, Fenton.
The two children noted in the middle are not named.
