- Description
- A brass cornet made by Olds Ambassador and owned by Maxine Sullivan. The body of the cornet (2013.46.29.1.1a) is brass with a straight bell and three (3) valves with green felt pads. The ambassador model is manufactured by F. E. Olds. The cornet has [OLDS / AMBASSADOR / FULLERTON / CALIF] inscribed at the base of the bell. The number [997566] is inscribed on the second valve. The finger ring for the pinky of the right hand is silver. The mouthpiece of the cornet (2013.46.29.1.1b) as a conical backbore and appears to be silver plated. [Olds 7C] is inscribed on the cup, below the rim.

- Description
- A hard-sided Olds Ambassador cornet case. The exterior is covered with brown leather with a metal plaque attached on the front. The plaque has a large [O] at the top, above the word [OLDS]. The case's edges are rounded and covered with dark brown leather bumper strips. It has a brown plastic handle and two lockable metal latches. The interior is lined with red plush and is molded to hold a trumpet and mouthpiece with a cavity underneath for additional material. A piece of yellow paper is taped above the handle. [A07468-3 / trumpet] is written on it in pencil.

- Description
- An instrument cleaning snake and its container. The cleaning snake (2013.46.29.1.3a) is made of flexible spring wire with a black nylon bristle brush on one end. The plastic case (2013.46.29.13b) for a cleaning snake. The case has a blue base and a clear, hinged lid that snap together at the front. Gold text on the lid reads: [MICRO / CORNET OR TRUMPET CLEANER / NO. 7315]. The number [165] was written in black marker on the left third of the lid.

- Instructional pamphlet from the Chicago Musical Instrument Company titled "How to care for your Cornet/Trumpet." The pamphlet consists of two (2) long, narrow pieces of paper folded in half and stapled. The first page has a pink background and features a white graphic of a trumpet with white, gray, and black polka dots coming out of the bell. The shadow of a cornet is atop the trumpet. White text reads: [CHICAGO MUSICAL INSTRUMENT COMPANY / How to care / for your / Cornet/Trumpet]. The booklet includes diagrams of a cornet & trumpet, care instructions, and a fingering chart.
