Freeman A. Hrabowski Ph. D. recalls growing up in Birmingham, Alabama, and attending the Sixth Avenue Baptist Church. He remembers being arrested for marching in the Birmingham Children's Crusade in 1963, and the bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church. He also discusses attending Hampton University and later starting the Meyerhoff Scholars Program for African American men studying math and science.
Souvenir program from a testimonial banquet for Rev. Robert Moses Williams, pastor of Zion Baptist Church. The booklet has a textured yellow cover with two (2) staples. The program includes event information, advertisements, best wishes, and brief biographies. The banquet was held at the downtown Holiday Inn in Baltimore, Md. on Friday, September 27, 1968 at 8:00 P.M., as printed on the cover. Dr. Woodrow Wilson Taylor was the guest speaker. All of the pages have a side border which reads [ELEVENTH ANNIVERSARY] vertically. The back cover is blank.
