This oil painting depicts a human figure with arms extended horizontally. The figure wears a long loose dark red/brown robe that flares outward towards the hem. The figure's head, an oval with two white spots for eyes as the only defined features, has short lines radiating outward from the scalp. There are two small round red spots over the figure's chest. At the ends of each horizontal arm is a larger oblong of paint. Each oblong has a streak of red trickling from the center. At the bottom of the figure are two short triangular brush strokes. Each triangular shape has a red streak running through the middle. To the right of the figure are two short vertical lines crossed by three horizontal short lines. They are done in a dark reddish-brown color. Pencil lines are visible underneath the brush strokes. There is a dark grey blue line of color across the top of the painting, and a green line across the bottom.
A color block pieced and appliqued quilt depicting the biblical story of animals boarding Noah's Ark made by Yvonne Wells. The quilt has a blue sky and a rust-red ground machine-stitched together. The ark, animals, and people are hand appliqued to the background. The animals are lined up in pairs waiting to board the ark, which is in the bottom left facing corner. Noah stands near the ark, while a woman with pink rickrack hair looks out the window and two other people stand on the deck. Two additional people are standing at the right facing side near the seam of the sky and ground backgrounds, with one holding an umbrella. The animals are made from a variety of fabrics and colors including faux fur, sheep's skin, printed stripes, and a Halloween fabric turned with the wrong side facing. The animals have plastic button eyes in a range of colors and sizes, while the people have embroidered faces. The central motif is bordered on the sides with a solid purple and on the top and bottom with a purple and red check. Each corner of the border features a different applique design with a series of diagonal scraps at the top left facing corner, a white cross in the top right, a green polka dot tree trunk in the bottom left, and an embroidered signature in the bottom right reading "YW1P88" in green thread. The quilt contains polyester batting and is backed in a light blue fabric with a small repeating design of white crosses. The backing is turned to the front and hand stitched with white thread, then machine stitched with blue thread to form the binding. The quilting is done by hand in white thread in a scallop or fan design.
The prayer rug is a low-pile carpet with a primarily gray-blue background with black and white design details. The design featured in the top third of the rug is the image of an architectural dome with a small floral spire at the top. Below the dome is a geometric pattern running horizontally across the rug. Below the geometric pattern in the lower two-thirds of the rug is a stylized architectural interior with geometric columns on either side of the space. At the top of the columns is a stylized arch of floral and scalloped patterns. At the top of the arch, attached to the rug, is a white plastic compass. The compass is a Qibla directional compass. Below the compass needle, at the bottom, is the manufacturer information [HILAL/Tel. 069-28 77 69/Praying carpets/W.-Germany]. Below the compass, in the center, is a floral motif. Surrounding the edges of the rug is a border with a floral pattern. At the top and bottom of the rug is white fringe.
