Assistant Docent Coordinator 

The Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture seeks one full-time contractor to assist the Supervisory Volunteer Coordinator primarily in implementing the Museum’s docent and volunteer programs managed within the Audience Engagement Unit.  The Assistant Docent Coordinator supports daily volunteer operations in the public areas of the museum.  This includes administrative duties, scheduling and coordinating volunteer activities for the public tours, public programs, early childhood and K-12 educational programs, and the Family History Center. The contract term is one year, April 5, 2023 - April 5, 2024, with four optional periods. Quotes are due March 29, 2023, by 5:00 pm in the vendor's time zone per the RFQ.

Teaching and Learning Unit

North Star Program: Content Development and Program Facilitator

Teaching and Learning Unit is seeking a contractor to serve as a content developer and program facilitation responsible to create art-based resources and programs, inclusive of historical content, image and object selection and pedagogical strategies such as thinking routines and discussion questions.  These digital resources will be primarily hosted on the Smithsonian Learning Lab platform and programs will be primarily virtual with some print and in person components.  The contract term is approximately eight months, ending December 31, 2023.  This is a multiple award request. Quotes are due March 29, 2023 by 11:59 pm, Eastern Daylight Time per the RFQ.

Arts Program Educator 

The Teaching and Learning Unit is seeking a contractor to serve as a content creator and facilitator responsible for the designing and facilitating arts education programs and assisting in the creation of resources (digital and/or print). The Contractor will conduct the tasks such as designing and facilitating virtual or in-person programs, drafting resources for use in the classroom and make connections to museum initiatives. The contract term is approximately eight months, ending December 31, 2023.  This is a multiple award request. Quotes are due March 29, 2023 by 11:59 pm, Eastern Daylight Time per the RFQ.
