We are so excited that you want to make the National Museum of African American History and Culture a part of your classroom!

The National Museum of African American History and Culture tells the American story through the African American lens. Our exhibitions utilize artifacts and stories from our collection to illuminate many areas related to the K-12 curriculum. To enhance your learning experience, our museum offers docent-led gallery introductions, abundant audio-visual components throughout the galleries, interactive elements, and a museum mobile app with expanded stories.

We do not currently offer virtual tours. However, we invite you to explore our Students page and STEM at NMAAHC page and Digital Resources Guide which offers many ways you can engage with the Museum’s content.

Visits to the museum are self-guided, which allows you to lead your own students through the museum. For school groups of 10 or more, you can submit a K-12 Student Group Visit Request on our museum website.  Please note that appointments are required for all school groups visiting the museum.

If you would like to receive updates regarding educator programs, student programs, and other related events sign up on our Educator's Contact List. Registering for email notifications will not secure timed-entry passes or register you for any type of tour.

Schedule Your School Group Visit

Schools can schedule their visit up to 60 days in advance. Reservations are required for all school groups visiting the museum.
