An Implicit Association Test (IAT) from a list of possible topics . We will also ask you (optionally) to report your attitudes or beliefs about these topics and provide some information about yourself. We ask these questions because the IAT can be more valuable if you also describe your own self-understanding of the attitude or stereotype that the IAT measures. We would also like to compare differences between people and groups.
If you google the term “unconscious bias,” you will likely stumble across articles claiming it is impossible to reduce your unconscious bias. You may even find such articles in the primary literature. Fortunately, you can ignore these articles, because they are wrong. There are scientifically proven ways to reduce your bias long-term, but there are several key steps you must follow in order for the training to be effective.
