Lift Every Voice is a global initiative highlighting organizations co-celebrating the Grand Opening of the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, which showcases the depth and breadth of African American history and culture across the nation and around the world.

Our organization has over 50 chapters within the United States. We plan to encourage all chapters to acknowledge and celebrate this historic event in a unique way via social media and/or locally.
We hope you will join us on Sunday, September 25 for our Season Opening Gala as we usher in a new year with a festive and exciting benefit evening. This year we not only pay tribute to Maestro Christoph Eschenbach's final season as Music Director, but also recognize the historic event taking place in Washington the same weekend: the opening of the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture.
Joining piano virtuoso Lang Lang, will be NSO Principal Pops Conductor Steven Reineke conducting 16 time Grammy nominee American R&B singer-songwriter Brian McKnight and American jazz singer Nnenna Freelon. In addition, these artists will perform a newly composed work by American film composer Mervyn Warren in celebration of this important occasion.
NTA is the oldest African American Technical Assn, will have an event during the 88th Annual conference on 9/23 at Howard Univ.
Host an evening social event for young people at Bliss Club in Washington DC to celebrate the Museum's opening in coordination with the DC host committee.
A formal cocktail party. Featuring live music, Eclectic Southern Cajun Cuisine with a Caribbean Flare, Specialty cocktails and Historian speaker Ms. Phyllis Cunningham to speak on Historic Events.
