- Description
- A tan blocked woven straw hat with brown ribbon (a). The hat is made of two separate pieces of woven straw, one is used for the crown and the other for the main body. The hat’s crown is short and rounded. The crown of the hat is machine stitched to the main body of the hat. These stitches are concealed by a brown rayon petersham ribbon hat band. The hat band is hand stitched to the base of the crown. The edges of the hat band meet in the center back of the hat and extend two inches. The edge of the brim is upturned along the front and sides of the hat. The brim is asymmetrical as it tilts upwards at proper right side and tilts downwards at the proper left. At the interior of the hat there is a rayon ribbon sweat band attached with straight hand stitches. The hat has a paired hat pin made of metal with a fake pearl edge (b).
