A blocked blue fur felt cloche (a). The crown of the hat is rounded and fits closely to the head. The sides of the hat are slightly longer than the center front and back. There is a dart on the proper right side of the hat. The edges of the hat are slightly turned under and are sewn to the interior with hand stitches. The edge of the hat on the proper right side has become unfolded. White tacking stitches at the edge of the hat and tissue on the proper right side were added by conservators. The hat is unlined and has no label. There is a detached brim made of curvilinear fur felt (b) cut to match curve of the edge of the hat. The ends of the brim angle outwards at the top edges. The proper right side is slightly wider than the proper left. The edges of the brim are finished with a teal synthetic silk blended petersham ribbon.
