- Description
- A draped purple brimless hat (a). The exterior of the hat is made of purple acetate. Two raised circle self-fabric bands are sewn to the top of the crown. The hat is gathered with machine-stitching where the raised circle meets the hat’s body. The purple acetate is also gathered at the bottom edge of the hat. The hat curves in an inverted "V" shape at the center font and back. The inside of the hat is lined in a silver and black metallic silk acetate novelty weave. Wire is placed at the bottom edge of the hat and the edge of the fabric is folded to the interior. A petersham rayon ribbon sweatband is machine stitched to the interior edge of the hat. Bias cut buckram is placed at the edge of the hat hidden underneath the sweatband. A star shaped broach (b) made of rhinestones set in metal is meant to pin to the center front of the hat. The hat also has a matching hat pin (c) with a lavender plastic pin head.
