- Description
- A red flat skullcap with rhinestones and velvet leaf appliqué. The top of the crown is slightly pointed and tapers downwards as the sides. The body of the hat is made from stiff synthetic net blocked to shape. Decorative leaves cut from velveteen and backed with a non-woven paper adhesive are hand-stitched to hat with large basting stitches. Rhinestones are glued to the leaves. Metal wire is attached to the edge of the hat with machine stitches along the blocked net. A rayon petersham ribbon sweatband and velveteen trim that encases another wire encircles bottom edge of the hat. There are grips attached to each side of the hat made of looped wire covered in red velvet. There are two labels at the center back of the hat; the first reads [Frank R. Jelleff INC. NEW YORK WASHINGTON, D.C.], the second reads [22].
