Four pieces of imitation leather are machine stitched together to construct the body of the hat, one for the top of the crown, a band for the side of the crown, a piece for the hatband and one for the top of the visor. The sides of the crown taper inwards at the bottom and are gathered at the hatband. Two seams are seen at the center back along the side of the crown and the hatband. The inside of the hat is lined with knitted cotton. A nylon synthetic blended petersham ribbon is sewn to edge of the interior. A strip of bias-cut buckram is placed behind the petersham ribbon.
