- Description
- A navy wool hat with a red pom pom. The hat is made of one piece of wool felt blocked into shape. A red cotton yarn pom-pom is adhered to the center top of hat. Two ply cord covered in a silk synthetic, possibly rayon, rests across the brim. Holes containing the ends of the red cord are present on the sides of the hat at the ends of the visor. The cord is knotted at each hole at the hat's interior. The blocked wool felt wraps around the bottom of the visor to encase a wood stiffener. The hat is unlined and has an adhered label at the top of the crown at the hat's interior. The label is made of red silk acetate and reads [DERBY // LOUISVILLE, KY. // IMPORTED // FRENCH BODY // ALL WOOL // WPL 10688 // ADJ].
