- Description
- A black fur felt hat with a woven trim and bow. The hat features a high crown and asymmetrical brim made from black fur felt that has been blocked to shape. The exterior fur felt has long pile fur and the interior has short pile fur. A 1” wide hatband made from woven cotton and black yarn is stitched over the seam where the hat crown meets the brim. The hatband ends in a bow at the proper right side of the crown. An identical 2” woven band trims the edge of the brim and is handstitched in place. The hat brim tapers from 4” at the front to 2.25” at the center back. A flexible (possibly) plastic wire is encased along the brim’s edge. The inner crown has a black 1.5” woven rayon Petersham ribbon is machine stitched along the circumference. A gold fabric tag is adhered to the center back of the Petersham ribbon and reads [HATS BY / LINDA PAGE / CREATED ESPECIALLY FOR YOU / NEW YORK] in black text. A hat stamp at the interior crown reads [DUCHESS / (illegible) / BODY MADE IN ITALY] in gold text.
