- Description
- A white and navy plastic raffia hat with an asymmetrical brim. The body of the hat is constructed of woven white and navy plastic raffia. The white raffia differs from the navy as it has the addition of white boucle thread sewn on both sides. The hat is made of two pieces of the woven raffia, one for the crown and another for the brim. The woven raffia is reversable and both sides are used on the exterior. The weave on the crown uses the side of the weave that has more white while the brim of the hat uses the reverse side that has more navy. The top of the crown is flat and lightly rounded at the edges. A navy petersham rayon ribbon hatband is adhered to the base of the crown. A bow made of the same petersham ribbon is adhered to the center back of the hatband. The brim is asymmetrical and is flipped upwards towards the crown on the proper right side. The edge of the brim is finished with a thin navy petersham rayon ribbon. A bow made of the same petersham ribbon is adhered to the center front of the brim. The interior of the hat is unlined. There is a navy petersham rayon ribbon stitched to the inside of the hat at the edge of the crown. A strip of buckram is sewn sewn along the seam that connects the crown to the brim at the interior hidden by the petersham ribbon. A label is sewn to the center back of the hat along the interior petersham ribbon that reads [Jacki] in black script.
