- Description
- A cream quilted bucket hat with a bow. The hat is made of three pieces of cream silk dupioni, one piece for the top of the crown, one for the sides of the crown, and another for the brim. All these pieces of fabric are machine stitched to one another. The top of the crown is flat and circular. The silk used for the sides of the crown is cut on the bias. A seam is visible at the side of the crown at the center back. There is a large bow adhered to the center front of the hat made of a cream rayon cotton blended petersham ribbon. The brim of the hat is short and is made of silk also cut on the bias. Buckram is placed on the inside of the brim. The inside of the hat is lined with cream acetate. There is a cream colored petersham rayon ribbon sweatband machine stitched to the edge of the crown. Discoloration in the shape of a rectangle at the center back of the petersham ribbon suggests that a tag was previous adhered to the interior. A union label is adhered to the inside of the hat hidden under the sweatband.
