Description
A brown wool pinstripe suit with a jacket and skirt. The jacket (.1) is made of a twill woven wool. The jacket has a notched collar, princess seams and two front side seams. Three brown plastic decorative buttons run down the center front of the jacket. There are two taps at bottom of the jacket at hip level with slits on each side that align with the front side seams. The sleeves are set in and are three quarter length. The back of the jacket has side back seams and two darts at the edge of the collar. The inside of the jacket is lined in orange woven synthetic crepe. Cotton interfacing is placed in a four-inch band at the bottom of the jacket, the sleeve cuffs, the collar, and shoulders.
The skirt (.2) is knee length and has an a-line silhouette. It is made of the same twill woven wool as the jacket. The wool on waistband of the skirt goes in the opposite grain as the rest of the skirt. There is a plastic button at the waistband on the proper left side. A metal zipper is set into cotton twill tape underneath the button. The zipper placket seam allowance is finished with surging on proper left side and has a raw edge on the proper right side. There are two darts at the center front that start undeath the waistband. The construction of the back of the skirt mirrors the front at the exterior. Two plain weave ribbon skirt loops are stitched to the sides of the waistband. The inside of the skirt is partially lined in the back with a synthetic crepe weave, made of two panels stitched down the center back. The bottom edge of the lining ends with the fabric's selvage. The skirt has two side seams that are finished with pinked seams. The hem of the skirt is covered with a synthetic seam binding.
