Description
A white cotton children's dress with mid length sleeves and a rounded neckline. The ends of the neckline and sleeves are edged with narrow lace trim. A decorative yoke is sewn to the front of the dress and is embordered with three flowers and stitches in a curvilinear line. The embroidery is hand stitched white cotton thread. Cut and drawn embroidery creating overcast bars is stitched below the yoke. The front dress panel is gathered at the bottom of the yoke, concentrated at the center front. The sleeves are set in and gathered at the shoulder. They are slightly tapered inwards at the bottom and are gathered at the edge of the sleeve along the lace trim. The dress has a wide hem with an additional row of stitching along the bottom of the dress. The neckline at the back of the dress is slightly higher than at the front. The dress is gathered at the neckline along the lace trim. An opening is placed at the center back of the dress starting at the neckline. It closes with two buttonholes and a shell button; the top button is missing. This opening continues into a center back seam. The dress is entirely machine stitched except for the embroidery at the yoke. A tag is stitched to the dress’s interior at the proper left side of the neckline at the center back. The tag is printed with the number two.
