Description
A floral peach brocade evening jacket with a high rounded neckline. The jacket is made of a millefleur brocade that has a peach satin ground with peach and gold metallic thread depicting birds, foliage, and meandering lines. Pleating at the neckline extends downwards to the center front button placket. The jacket has a center front opening with four metal fabric covered buttons on the proper left side and four bound buttonholes on the proper right side. The long set-in sleeves slightly taper at the wrists. The jacket has a fitted waist and slightly flares out at the hips. Two darts are sewn to each side of the center front opening starting at the hem and extending upwards to the bustline. The back of the jacket has a center back seam and a slit at the center back of the neckline. A single vent starts from the center back seam, ending at the hem. The inside of the jacket is lined with light peach silk and is self-faced with brocade along neckline, and the edge of the center front opening. The edge of the lining fabric and brocade are stitched together with hand whip stitches, the other seams are machine stitched.
