Description
A black velvelt and silver lamé dress with silver bow embellishments designed by Peter Davy. The fitted bodice has a sweetheart neckline and a single strap on the proper right side. It has a dropped waist, with a wide silver lamé waistband above a gathered full skirt made from silver lamé and black cut velvet in a small-scale stylized meandering floral vine design. The shoulder strap is made from silver lamé and is covered with a large silver lamé padded bow. A second large silver lamé bow is sewn at the proper left front side waistband. The dress closes at the center back with a black metal and plastic zipper.
The bodice is fully lined, the front in a black woven synthetic fabric and the back in a black knit synthetic fabric. Boning is sewn between the facing and the lining at the front and back sides, four (4) pieces total. Black hanger loops are sewn at each interior side seam. The bows are padded, probably with net or tulle. The skirt has an attached petticoat made from pale yellow synthetic net. A white fabric label with black printed text is sewn at the interior proper left back bodice that reads, "An Original / by / Peter Davy" with three (3) black diamonds down the proper left side of the label.
