- Description
- A single sheet Puerto Rican Spanish language form titled [Empadronamiento General de Esclavos] ("General Registration of Slaves"). The form is printed on both sides in black ink and completed by hand on the recto in brown ink. Across the top of recto is printed [ISLA DE PUERTO-RICO]. The form is made up of 12 columns reading from left to right: [Nombres. / Sexo. / Nacion. / Edad. / Estado. / Oficio. / Nomb. del padre. / Id. del cónyuga. / Id. de los hijos / Señas personales. / Observaciones.] There are six total individuals listed on the form: Maricelle Ana, with the names of her four children given as: [F(?)es / Asoncion / Lorenzo / Mauricio]; and Mauricio, listed on a separate line. The enslaved individuals are listed as [propiedad de la sucesión de] ("property of the estate of") [Don José Anto. Medina] at the top and Medina's signature is also in the bottom right corner. The verso is composed of printed text in two sections of two columns each with headings reading [Instrucciones para llenar esta Cédula] and [Arcticulos de la Ley el trafico negrero.].
