Description
A color photograph of Lucille Clifton wearing a red "Soul Sister" sweat shirt (NMAAHC 2010.51.1), that was a birthday gift from Sonia Sanchez. Clifton is pictured in the center of the image, seated in a grey chair in front of a light blue wall. She wears the red sweatshirt with a gold depiction of a woman in the center and the words "SOUL SISTER" beneath. She also wears eyeglasses and gold hoop earrings. She is seated next to an unidentified man wearing a blue sweater. They are both looking towards the camera and smiling. There are no inscriptions, front or back.
