- Description
- A mug with matching coaster set given to Lucille Clifton by Essence Magazine in celebration of their 20th anniversary. The mug is black ceramic with gold vertical stripes around the body and a gold rim. At center is printed, in gold, [ESSENCE / 20TH ANNIVERSARY / MAY, 1990]. The coaster is a black ceramic square with gold vertical stripes and at bottom right is printed [LUCILLE CLIFTON]. The coaster has a cork bottom. Clifton used the mug to store the pens and pencils that she used to write her poems and other materials.
