- Description
- A five-quart cast aluminum kettle with a wooden handle. The body of the kettle is round, with the spout cast with the body. A small oval opening is placed on top of the spout, opening by pulling a rusted screw on the left side of the opening. The back of the opening is hinged and attached to the handle, with has metal arms and a turned wooden handle. A large circular opening on top of the kettle opens by lifting up and swiveling the lid sideways toward the back of the body. Text is imprinted on the bottom of the body and the interior of the small spout opening. The text on the bottom is largely illegible from heavy use of the kettle, but includes the following: "5QT / COLONIAL DESIGN / SAFETY FILL / CAST ALUMINUM / ERIE PA [illegible] / [illegible] SEPT [illegible] / [illegible]".
