Description
Fourteen clipping from magazines and newspapers that were hung on the walls of Mae's Millinery Shop. The clippings vary in size and age but all feature hats in some way. [1] is a newspaper clipping of C. Delores Tucker and Rosa Parks, likely taken in the mid-1980s, [2] is a newspaper clipping of a dress advertisement, [3] is a newspaper clipping of an article about the Color of the 50s, [4] is a clipping of a mechanical print of three hat styles on medium weight machine made paper, [5] is a newspaper clipping featuring a color photograph of a woman wearing a turban style hat, [6] is a magazine cut out featuring color photographs of models wearing dresses on both front and back, [7] is a newspaper clipping of a photo of two women, Alfreda and Cocabean from a production of the play "All Roads Lead Home" by Ed Shockley, [8] is a magazine cutting from the fall of 1985 featuring a woman is a broad rimmed red hat, [9] is a magazine page featuring color photographs of women wearing hats on front and back, [10] is a clipping of a mechanical print of three hat styles on medium weight machine made paper, [11] is a newspaper clipping from the Philadelphia Inquirer, March 17, 1983 featuring a millinery advertisement, [12] is a cutout from Essence magazine and features an advertisement with a woman in a leopard print hat, scarf and purse, [13] is an H&K cutout, commercial print on glossy paper, and [14] is a cutout of a woman in a fur trimmed black hat, commercial print on glossy paper.
