- A black-and-white photograph of a segregated lunchroom in Maryland, captured by Joe Schwartz while on his honeymoon. A sign above the screened door reads [THIS DOOR / WHITE ONLY / COLORED IN REAR]. The photographer's wife, Anne, is coming around the corner of the building, towards a car parked in front. There are two handwritten inscriptions on the verso, at bottom left: [THIS DOOR WHITE ONLY] and at bottom right:
