- Description
- A corner étagère from the Rock Rest Tourist Home. The wooden étagère has five tiers and a dark reddish brown finish. Each of the five display shelves are roughly fan shaped with semicircular cutouts at the fan corners along the front edges of the shelves. The smallest shelf is at the top tier and each shelf below is slightly bigger than the one above. The widest shelf is the fifth tier, at the bottom of the étagère. The top shelf features small finials at all three corners. On the left and right corners of the shelves are carved wooden, cabriolet shaped, fret work pillars that support the shelves. The back pillars are turned wood with repeating carved, rounded, tapered shapes and grooves between each shelf. The back edges of the top three shelves also have scrolled, fret work guardrails. The bottom two shelves have short, plain guardrails.
