- Description
- A wicker armchair from the Rock Rest Tourist Home. The chair features a wicker wrapped wooden frame and a seat cushion. The wicker and wood have been painted a light blue and the cushion is a darker cadet blue. The chair has a high back support and sides with open crisscross gridding. The wide flat arms and the frame of the continuous back support feature a closed weave. The chair also has plaiting along the chair’s front that spans upwards across the outside edges of the arms and extends up and around the top edge of the back support. The seat front has a closed weave with arched aprons below with open crisscross gridding. The seat frame is plain, painted wood with twelve springs attached along the interior edges. The springs are attached to thin metal bars that form a grid pattern that support the cushion. The rear legs and crisscrossed stretchers are plain, painted wood. The front legs are wicker wrapped and feature bulbous feet. The seat cushion is covered in a cadet blue vinyl with matching piping along the top edge.
